- Elevated view of the Dakota Dunes Golf Links through floor-to-ceiling windows
The Golf View King is the only room type at Dakota Dunes Resort sold by its view. The resort places it on the fourth floor and above and describes floor-to-ceiling windows with elevated views of the golf course. The room itself has the same 334 square feet as the standard king, with the same comfortable bed, well-lit working area and bathroom.
What the height buys is the shape of the land. The links were laid out through natural sand dunes on the rim of the river valley, and from a higher floor the fairways read as pale green ribbons winding between darker grass and sand. Early in the morning and late in the evening the low prairie sun throws long shadows across the dune faces; in winter the course becomes a white field crossed by the resort's cross-country ski loop, which starts at the tenth hole.
Golfers staying for a round or two will find the room practical as well as pleasant: the clubhouse and pro shop are on the same property, and the course can be studied from the window over coffee. The resort's FAQ places its pet-friendly rooms on the second floor, so guests travelling with a dog should check with reservations before counting on a golf view.
Before asking for it
One of the resort's pages calls this room a Golf View King Suite. The size and description on the same page match a standard king room, so this guide treats it as a room rather than a suite. The only suite type listed with separate seating is the King Executive Suite.
