Six ways to sleep beside the dunes
The resort lists 155 rooms in six categories. The table below uses the square footage and occupancy published on each room's page.
Every room at Dakota Dunes Resort is built around the same idea: a wide window and a calm interior. The resort describes floor-to-ceiling windows in each guest room and suite, with views of open landscape, the golf links or the South Saskatchewan River valley basin. The palette is neutral, the furniture is dark wood, and the bedside wall carries an artwork of Chief Bear's headdress, a reference to the Whitecap Dakota Nation's own story. Within that shared design the six types differ mainly in size, bed set-up and outlook.
| Room | Size | Up to | Beds | Worth knowing |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| One King Bed | 334 sq ft | 3 | 1 king | The standard room; 55-inch TV, work area |
| One King Bed Golf View | 334 sq ft | 3 | 1 king | Fourth floor and above, facing the links |
| One King Bed with Desk | 368 sq ft | 3 | 1 king | Large desk, mini-fridge |
| Two Queen Beds | 393 sq ft | 5 | 2 queens | Small fridge, 55-inch TV |
| Barrier-Free Two Queen Room | 523 sq ft | 5 | 2 queens | Largest standard room; open layout |
| King Executive Suite | 510 sq ft | 4 | 1 king + sofa | L-shaped, separate seating area |
What every room shares
The resort's room pages repeat the same list of features for each type: HD television, high-speed Wi-Fi, air conditioning, down comforters and cotton-rich linens, a safe, an alarm clock, a coffee maker with tea service, bathrobes and slippers, an iron and board, a hair dryer, walk-in showers and Mother Earth Essentials bath products. Down and foam pillows are available, room service is listed, and the concierge service runs 24 hours. Rollaway beds and cribs can be added for a fee. There is no bottled water in the rooms by design: Whitecap's own treatment plant supplies the tap water, and the resort leaves an explanation of the process in each room.
Choosing between them
For a couple, the choice is mostly about outlook and work. The plain One King Bed and the Golf View King are the same size; the difference is the floor and the direction of the window. The King with Desk adds 34 square feet and a proper desk with reachable power outlets, which matters to anyone who brings a laptop. For a family of four or five, the two-queen room is the obvious type, and the barrier-free version adds 130 square feet of floor space with a layout designed for easy movement. The King Executive Suite is the only suite and the only room with a sofa and a separate seating area.
Dog owners should know that all guest rooms on the second floor are pet-friendly, so a request with a dog is a request for that floor. The resort accepts two dogs per room, of any size, and charges a $50 cleaning fee per dog per stay; cats and other animals are not accepted. The golf-view rooms are on the fourth floor and above, not the second floor, so a guest travelling with a dog should confirm with reservations which room types are available on the pet floor.
About rates
This guide does not print nightly room rates. They change with dates and demand, and the resort adds a 3% resort marketing fee. Current rates are on the resort's booking engine, and the room desk of this guide can check a specific set of dates through the request form.

Add-ons the resort sells
Each room page lists a few enhancements that can be added by calling reservations: macarons, a charcuterie board for two, a bottle of prosecco or prosecco with macarons, and a pet stay with bowls, treats and a blanket. They are small touches rather than packages; the packages page covers the larger bundles with dining, shows or the Cosmic Dome.
