The King Executive Suite is the resort's single suite type and is described as an expansive, L-shaped room with a plush king bed, a sofa, a separate seating area and a well-lit work area. The L shape is what makes it a suite: the seating corner sits apart from the bed, so one person can read or work while another sleeps.
The suite takes up to four guests. The resort's general room description, with floor-to-ceiling windows framing the landscape, the links or the river valley basin, applies here as well. Because there is only one suite type, guests used to choosing between junior, one-bedroom and signature suites should adjust expectations: the step up from a standard room at Dakota Dunes is a matter of shape and seating rather than of a separate bedroom.
Suites carry a larger refundable incidentals deposit at check-in, $750 against $500 for rooms, alongside full payment for the stay. For a special occasion, the resort's add-ons of prosecco, macarons or a charcuterie board can be arranged through reservations.
When it makes sense
- A longer stay where a sitting area changes daily life.
- A wedding couple staying on site after a reception in the conference centre.
- A small family that prefers one king and a sofa to two queens.
