Groups and celebrations

Gathering a group on the prairie

The conference centre has 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The resort's sales team handles groups directly.

The resort's conference pages describe a place built for gatherings: about 10,000 square feet of meeting and event space, some of it with natural light and floor-to-ceiling windows, nine banquet rooms, and a sales team that plans trade shows, seminars, team-building days, conventions and celebrations. The setting is the selling point: delegates and wedding guests look out on dune formations and native prairie grasses rather than on a parking structure, and the resort is twenty minutes from Saskatoon, according to its own pages.

400 or 600?

The weddings page gives the Tatanka Room a capacity of up to 400 guests; the conference page speaks of banquet-style events for 600. The resort publishes capacity charts for each room; planners should work from those charts rather than from either sentence.

Weddings

The resort describes a wedding setting that joins contemporary design with the heritage of Whitecap Dakota Nation, and offers to include Indigenous traditions, such as a traditional blessing or a smudging ceremony meant to bring cleansing, protection and unity to those attending. Its team lists help with menus built on local producers, themes and décor, seating plans, lighting and sound, music and entertainment, and tableware. It calls itself a year-round wedding destination, which on the prairie means a winter wedding with a white landscape outside the windows is as possible as a summer one.

Rooms for the guests

For weddings and conferences alike, the resort sets up a personalised booking link that guests use to reserve rooms at the group's rate, and it sends the organiser rooming list reports showing who has booked and when they arrive. This guide's room desk is not the right channel for a full room block, which should go through the resort's sales team; the form on this site is meant for individual rooms or a few rooms for family members around an event.

Adding the land to the agenda

Several of the resort's cultural sessions are designed for groups: the session with a Whitecap Elder for up to 20 people, the Pow Wow dance presentation and the online 4 Seasons of Reconciliation workshop, which the resort aimed at workplaces and schools. Golf groups can combine a meeting with a round at the links, whose clubhouse has a private meeting room and a patio. Details are on the experiences and golf pages.

Ask the desk to find a room at Dakota Dunes

The form goes to the room desk of this guide, not to the resort. The desk checks the dates against the hotel's reservations team or a booking partner and answers by email with what is available and what it costs. No card details are asked for here, and sending the form books nothing.

Thank you, the request has arrived. The desk will compare the dates with the hotel's availability and write back by email. Nothing has been booked or charged.
